I think the few who followed it gave up pestering me to post and moved on to more fruitful nagging. It is true; I have neglected my blogging duties. So in light of that and cooping myself in my room all night I will give a brief account of my day –though be forewarned it may not be overly entertaining.

8:00:00 AM
My “Earned Day Off” or EDO as they are called didn’t provide me the luxury of the usual “sleep-in”. I got up early only to trot off to the vampire lab where they sucked my blood and made me pee into a cup. However, I ran out of pee after missing the cup and lubricating my hand only to be rewarded with a bonus cup (a fresh clean one) to carry around in my purse all day. Anyway, the vampires sucked my blood and I insisted they refrain from tapping the wound shut due to a sensitivity to the adhesive; so, in turn they put a Band-Aid on my arm instead which has no left two lovely red hickies on my arm that will remain visible for three weeks longer than I could hope.

9:00:00 AM
After being scarred, I went to find a snack/breakfast as I was famished from the 12 hour fast. I ate the worst thing I could find for me at Sobey’s to show my cholesterol levels who’s REALLY the boss. Then I trotted off to my doctor’s appointment, where I ranted with the receptionist about the poor management of the U of A and how it is being driven into the ground by a megalomaniac at the expense of the students. Literally AND figuratively. Boy, am I sure glad not to be a proponent of that funding anymore.

10:00:00 AM
The next excursion was to have my brain picked. I was finishing up an IQ test to which I am pleased to report did not require further subtest with grade three math word questions. Overanalytical people need highly scrutinized, grammatically correct sentences that do not provide room for multiple interpretations. Surely the envelope-mail question will haunt me forever. Although my IQ has yet to be reported (and I’m pleased to announce I do not yet know the result and am basking in the last few days I have left considering myself moderately intelligent before they deem me a napkin worthy, drool producing retard or Officially Retarded)*. Following this one I completed a personality inventory test. My favourite question: Do you think someone is trying to poison you? Unfortunately, they were only T/F questions which left little room for creative answers. Yes. Yes, I do –if you were wondering. All joking aside, the test was 567 questions long. I went cross-eyed from the experience and was exhausted to begin with. I’m really curious to see how this all turns out, it’s truly quite fascinating.

Following the personality test I started a different test that made me feel inadequately equipped for life. I had to spell –not my strong suit; I had to pronounce words –WTF is GOUACHE anyway? And who knows how you say it. The highpoint was definitely the math. Fractions? Anyone? I haven’t done math in EIGHT YEARS. I was struggling with how to do long division let alone fractions, algebra, algebraic factories, derivatives, integrals, and weird matrices without application. If that was an IQ test, mine is sub-zero. Still interesting, and I like the ones that are more like games. And the administrator PhD to be is pretty nice too (I’m sure that will come in handy for her when she has to break it to me I’m missing a large chunk of my frontal lobe).

Then, I had coffee with a friend and went home. I cleaned my bathroom thoroughly with bleach, washed the floor and cleaned the ever-dreaded toilet. I am not a fan in the least of cleaning male human beings urine of my toilet but did it resentfully anyway. I then locked the door in anticipation for the numerous male guests of my brother who were coming over for a fun night of whoknowswhat. They were all confused by the “NO PENIS” sign I taped on the door last week, and I’m sure some were angry, annoyed, and outright confused by the lack of access to the “main bathroom”. They mustn’t forget I too become angry, enraged even, when I have to clean their pee off my toilet and floor. Poor babies, not sure if they found the master ensuite from AJ’s room. Not sure I’m too worried about it either. They are lucky they didn’t tread far; some suggested I stand ominously in front of the door with menacing looking scissors.

Other than that, nothing too exciting today, hopefully, I’ll muster the energy to rant about something exciting tomorrow.

Bon nuit.

*This is not meant to disrespect anyone or insult anyone in anyway. But, Benny is where he needs to be, and I'm sure he's hanging out with Jesus, probably digging hooker holes and riding hard. Thanks for calling this week, Ben. There has been no shortage of coverage of the plane crash in Golden, BC that took the life of a very lively, very loved Allen Williams. Allen was my cousin, well my mum's cousin and my second cousin. I had only begun to enjoy the privilege of getting to know him these past few years, and will now have to wait to be reunited with him. Love, prayers, and lasagna to the family.

On a happy note and a congratulation to Nancy and Sheldon, baby Allen D. Williams born Saturday morning. Tiniest little baby ever with cute little fingers.

We were at the family service on Friday night, when baby Allen decided it was time to join the world and he did. He was introduced during a special announcement at the public service on Saturday.

Saya Tidek Jacep Maleyu

Saya Tidek Jacep Maleyu - I don't speak Malay

How it all began

At the crack of dawn Adrian and his father awoke, literally the crack of dawn. The flight was set to leave about 10AM and they insisted on being at the airport by 7AM as it was connecting to an International flight. Now the YEG airport isn't that big nor does it demand much of its international clientele as compared to its YVR counterpart. I stayed in bed. They took a taxi. The journey to Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan had in fact, begun.

My mother woke me up about 7:30 and we arrived at the airport for about 8:15. We checked in, and decided to go eat some piss-ant meal at one of the airport diners. Sleep was far more appetizing to me.

We boarded the jet, and I'm pretty sure if my memory is correct, I slept -for most of the way. We arrived in Vancouver, waited for a few hours in the terminal, where it was insisted that we wander around and take inane picture with various Indian propaganda, and then transfered to our flight to Beijing. That's right you heard me Beijing. Never let anyone who hasn't traveled much book your flight. I would have happily paid the extra $300 to fly direct. I digress. I believe it was about 14 hours later that we arrived at the PEK. I did manage to snag three seats, take an Imovane (a high-tech sleeping pill) and play dead for about 6 of the 14 hours. I should have taken two.

The Peking airport is undergoing vast renovations for the Olympics but there is never enough construction to cease the spread of the hideous Beijing 2008 Olympic Mascots. We toddled around the airport for a few more hours -I believe 2 this time until we managed our flight to Kuala Lumpur. Time count: ~22hours + 1 day. Status: mildly exhausted.

The Kuala Lumpur International Airport is beautiful and equip with free internet kiosks. We trod through its magnificence, past the Pan Pacific Hotel, which to my past experiences boasts fluffy down pillows, duvets, soaker tubs and BEDS. I grimaced slightly as we continued past to catch a taxi-van to the domestic airport - about a half hour away.

The domestic airport also know as a boxy-shit-hole consisted of a giant room sectioned off by a few cubicle dividers and a plethora of benches littered with parasitic people. My sleep deprived brain was thinking survival of the fittest and hoping to take a little piece of the corrugated hard plastic "beds". People here obviously expected waits like ours: 8 hours. That's right an 8 hour layover and a lonely Pan Pacific. I managed to procure a bench and attempt a now hungry and further exhausted sleep. I nodded off periodically but was awaken every 30 minutes or so by the chilled air, the lumpy (non-ergonomic) bench, and my belly's grumble (which I satisfied with the only quasi-edible thing around: McDonalds).

I believe it was about 4AM that we set out through the security (which I took two full water bottles through by accident) claimed our boarding passes and I payed 70RMD or so for overweight charges. I really enjoyed that ringgits are worthless. Eventually, we boarded yet another plane, this time AirMalaysia -in they're beautifully painted red jets. I was so tired and relieved to be in a cushioned seat that I passed out almost immediately and slept through the mechanical difficulties as they fixed them, and the apparently near vertical take off. From what they tell me the basically flew in a giant parabolic arch from A to B in about 30 minutes and the flight was supposed to be an hour or so. I woke up just before we landed, in time to see the giant fields of palm trees and other local crops.

We landed safely in Johor Baru, and I was impressed by the quality of landed we had in the jumbo red jet. The next part is somewhat of a blur, but we bussed somewhere I think, and then left Ady and Aaron in Johor and took another few buses to Singapore. We had to get on an off buses so we could go through customs and immigration, etc. We then hoped on the train to a district of Singapore to meet Papa Lim's brother. And the journey begins. Time count: ~40hours Status: exhausted, not to mention apathetic.

Making Daddy Proud

Nestea should hire us for advertising...

How do you spend your Saturday afternoons? Well, I must say Adrian and I headed up one rock star adventure.

It all started with and eczema itch and the need for some cortisone last night. While at Shoppers we notice a display of Nestea and inquire about its cost. For only $3.99 (Strong Canadian Dollar Style) we can get a case of 12 Original and Oh So Delicious Nestea! But... there was a $3.00 coupon on the box. This coupon was redeemable on your next purchase of the same or similar products, so we bought a box at $3.99 - an already low price for this easily ingestible treat and took it home. Today, we cut out the coupon and headed back with a vengeance - just like Bruce Willis. This afternoon we bought one more case and then each went into shoppers ten or so more times paying only $1.59 including deposit, etc. And loaded the back of Adrian's car with a dozen cases of taste bud tantalizers - a far cry above a dozen roses. We planned ahead by bringing a suitcase and scissors for efficiecy's sake. I'm sending a coupon home to my well-deserving daddy, he who definitely taught me the value (hahaha oh punny) of bulk-buying when good sales come about. However, judging from my well stocked fridge (and that's not all of it), Nestea has been on sale lately (blue jug - from powdered Nestea, TetraPac 1L Nestea and the plethora of cans).

Earth Day!

"Happy Earth Day!" she proclaimed. Well, maybe if we stopped over producing everything, including children we can't afford to feed, perhaps the world's biodiversity wouldn't be trampled on by mindless fools. It's Earth Day, alright. It's more like the countdown to impeding doom that we brough upon ourselves. HAPPY is not the word I would choose... especially for the one day of the year we hope people are concious about their planet. Everyday should be Earth Day.

Happy Easter!

Well, it’s 3:00AM on the dot… and I’m awake and wandering… or blogging however you may see it. I got to talking to some old friends and then meandering on MySpace, the searching for people I used to know and alas it has sparked a writing frenzy.

So, I was asked a question by someone on MSN who hadn’t spoken to me in two years. He said, “What’s new?” to which I replied, “You haven’t spoken to me in TWO YEARS, could be a LITTLE more specific…” Alas, an update.

University
Uni always seems to get the spotlight… I have had a productive weekend starring at the computer screen with intermittent naps. I mean, what else was I supposed to do –dig for Easter eggs in the snow?! I’m currently working on:

§ Research Paper

§ Japanese Essay

§ Kyokushin Karate Field Test

§ Pretending to study

Boys
I have decided to announce to the world that I AM STRAIGHT. As I was swiftly waddling to the bus the other day there was a large creature in my path. The back-pack this creature wore was covered with pins and insignia that I couldn’t make out until I was closer. The all bore homosexual symbols and various other statements of the sort, one saying, “I love boys!” to which I though, so do I.

This beast was slow and bulky so I overtook it on the path and climbed onto the bus. Before I knew it the beast too was getting on the best, the best who I though had thought was a female was actually a male. I dare not say “man” for I might insult it.

Honestly, at what point did I miss the lecture that said, please state your sexuality on your backpack and make sure everyone you know, knows your sexual preference. So, until I can find a pin that says, “I’m STRAIGHT” I’ll let you all know, I, too, like boys. Particularly, my boy.

Work
I am still working 12-hours a week tutoring a girl with Down’s syndrome. It’s a fun job for the most part. I shall continue this job into the summer in the evenings, while I work as a mercenary –oh, I mean a research assistant at the U.

The End is Near!
Finally, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have set up my life until I graduate, which as of right now, should be April of 2008. It has been a long, long, loooong haul, but at times rewarding which is always worth it. M is for Mooooooo

Firstly, to clarify the identity of one "M". That would be Morgan, also known as Aho-chan. Morgan is in Japanese with me and one of the few I tolerate.
Random tidbit care of http://www.behindthename.com/Morgan has this meaning:

From the Old Welsh masculine name Morcant, which was possibly derived from Welsh mor "sea" and cant "circle". As a (possibly unrelated) feminine name it was used by Geoffrey of Monmouth for the Arthurian sorceress Morgan le Fay.

Long story short, he's a woman! Ok, I took that out of nowhere.

2. Job, Job, Summer Job

I'm pretty excited to have just got a research position I applied for. I understand that over 20 people applied, four were interviewed, and I am the master of the universe. Basically, I will be working at the U of A this summer under a PhD and grad student looking at advertising and how it affects physical activity. Should be interesting - also, I will get to play on the computer building surveys, and recruit guinea pigglets! Wooot! It should be a great experience for my educational endeavours!

3. I Like Baking

I attempted a "Turtle"-like tart this weekend. It was fashioned with a shortbread crust, followed by a succulant chocolate layer. Then I buried it in pecans and smoothered it in caramel finishing it off with a triffle of chocolate swirls.

Personally, I didn't like it. Then again, I don't like shortbread. But, I have a great idea to re-vamp and better-ify the delicious dessert.

4. Schoool

I now have to go to school. Comment away! And have a good day!

Karate Kaputs

So, from what I gather after 12-aught years of devotion and loyalty to an instructor and dojo I hear the doors are closing via the grape-vine.

I guess that just goes to show how much respect I was given in return. Midterms, mental breakdowns (not necissarily my own), corporate holidays, and plans to take on the world...

As previously stated, Blake you're my hero! In the sense that you blog far more than I do and give me Japan updates so I can live vicariously through you until I get back to the sinking land of the rising sun... maybe its ALL and optical illusion?

Work
I started working this Monday, whether or not that was a complete mad leap is a story yet to be told. I work as a tutor for a girl with Down's syndrome who is etymology similar to me. So far, so good. We work on reading, spelling, swimming?, and possible other fun things that will likely involve computers!

Uni is a Mad House for the Unstable
As far as my past experiences can tell, only the unstable would venture off to University and subject themselves to the torture that must be endured. Not only are there far too many morons, social derelicts, and English-lacking mongrols, there is far too much work to do. I mean really, what does it matter when it's all said and done? You get a piece of paper that says... wooohooo you laboured for 4 years and took courses that were never actually APPLICABLE in life but... you must be bright! --Or are the bright ones those who are riggly-piggling in the bush 6 month of the year for 300K? Ya... the logic here seems skewed -all of us "educated" will be lucky to score 40K/Year when we get out on parole.

My classes are alright... I have ethics, exercise testing protocols, research, Japanese, and body composition and nutrition. They all have their elements of radmctazzlingness... but midterms are approaching. I like to associate midterm writing with gambling. You walk into a room with a wealth of knowledge, information or money, and walk out with a blank expression on your face and no answers as to where it all went.

To those of you I value -goodluck, the rest of you, I hope you're bubbling my curve.

Let's do a Pole: What should I be when I grow up?

An architect

An orthopaedic surgeon

A mango picker on a hot tropical island, with beautiful beaches and no bugs

A fashion designer

A millionaire

A house-wife/mother of 4 of a millionaire

You tell me... cause I sure's the hell don't know.

Valentine's Day...
is crap! Seriously can anyone actually tell me WHO St. Valentine was, and WHAT he had to do with the Roman god Cupid, and HOW "love" is supposed ot be associated with it... maybe Hallmark can tell me? Or better yet, maybe if we are goign to declare this day something special it should at least be declared a statuatory holiday.

From what I've heard/read, Saint Valentine... at least one of the three... was a jerk. Further, Catholic... doesn't that say enough? I'm not celebrating. If you want give me money or a present pick a different day, and name it after me.

I'm re-writing my BIOCH 200 Final... nananananbooboo... Really i'm scared to death... much bust-me-arse.

Again, the Japanese speech contest approaches... this year I will do my best not to get sick and spend the day in the hospital... that way i'll stand a better chance of winning.

I'm so swamped today, and if annyong felt compelled to volunteer and do my Japanese homework I would be tickled pink (all in the name of February 7th).

Missing -Reward if Found!

Anybody seen my alarm clock? ...

It has been a few weeks now since that cold lonely night since I set my perfectly annoying Casio alarm clock to wake me at 8:30 in the AM. I set it beside my bed, and when I woke up at 9AM the following morning it had dissapeared. People questionned whether or not the little brother was to blame, but it has been weeks and he would not be so cruel. I loved that clock -annoying as it was- i purchased it at BigKamera in Namba, Japan for just over 1,000 yen. I miss you. Come home to me my lovely clock, I promise not to hit your incessently in the mornings...

I will give you a grand reward (i think it's grand anyway...)
This is an idea of its grandure... however my lovely Casio is more roundish, white, and just plain better.

I'm off to bed for another lonely and quiet awakening in the morning, God willing.

Goodnight you princes of Maine, kings of New England.

I think I'm　turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so!

And here is my Japanese blogging fun...

http://mixi.jp/show_friend.pl?id=7800306

I hope you all enjoy it thoroughly, woot!

Love you!

Don't Take ETS!

Seriously, folks... it's one of those things when it happens once or twice you let it go... But today AGAIN for about the 4th time in the past two weeks I was waiting patiently (as always early) for the number 51 Bus to take me quietly into the night. But alas, come a 30-minute wait (after the scheduled time) I gave-up. I was seven minutes early for the ride and never saw its wheeley-delights. Go transit... maybe you should spend money on more buses, drivers, etc. rather than advertising for your less than mediocre and oh so unreliable services. I suppose that means that one more dictator has fallen but surely not without making the History books. Some people seem squeamish at the "brutality" of hanging someone but they just aren't accustom to the reality that sometimes death is the best answer. They get their fill of blood and gore from Hollywood and sleep better knowing that it's ficticious. I, however, sleep better knowing that somewhere in the world there is a sense of justice for wrongdoings. If only Canada would realise that we had it right back in the day when we excuted criminals.

I am reading a book called, Stiff, by Mary Roach wherin she discuses various topics related to cadavers, death and anatomy. I found it rather amusing that in earlier centuries criminals punished by death gave up their right to decided what was done with their remains and they were given to anatomist to dissect, etc. Personally, they were on to something, they just missed the economical side of harvesting organs. Think of the defecit we could alleviate -extirpating criminals while making a profit.

The Sirens Re-Align with the Stars

For the first update: I have recently finished a massive swimming course in Vancouver... well actually it was in Surrey and I was staying in Richmond so basically I did a 2 hour commute each way, everyday to be tortured by one mean Knucker.

Really, this Knucker wasn't that mean, but I was so out of shape that I feel better blaming my sorrows on someone else, that seems to be the fashionable thing to do this century. Why do I complain? Well, firstly, I had basically done this course in segments over the past year in Alberta, and was made to join a class of 16/17 morons for 9 hours a day. The only challange was the fitness component which I had to bust my buns to pass (swimming 50m head-up front crawl in under 50s followed by a 1-minute rest followed by 50m of head-up breast stroke in under 60s). Sure that would have been fantastically easy IF i hadn't spent the last week eating Chocolate for breakfast and doing nothing for the past month. Needless to say, I passed with flying colours come the end and will now hopefully be employed at home for the summer.

It was fantastic to see Kashi again. It was much like the old days when she did her thing and I did mine, and we occasaionally stopped to chit-chat. I did eat a heap-load of Chinese food and swear I was starting to turn yellow for a bit. I'm not really complaining, one night Kashi and Pricilla and I ate hot-pot which was soooo fantastic ... 17$ all you can eat, and we did just that. I got to test out my "ng goi" again, which never ceases to amuse me and I was taught some other fun words too... MAAAAA FUN (LA) ..... Okla, I will stop now.

By the end of the journey (Saturday) I was feeling slightly ill, which I blame in whole on the fact that during this course we had to actually breath into and be breathed into while doing AR. Truly, disgusting. I understand the importance in a real-life scenario, but let's face it, there are enough disease floating around these days, let us not aid in their infection rates. So now, I'm ill, and have been in bed trying to recouperate for the big return to classes tomorrow.

Back to bed I go.... Oyasumi!!

A Christmas Success!

Christmas Eve didn't have the traditional evening Christmas service, as it was Sunday so all of us God-fearing cherubs piled into the vehicle and went to church. I'm pretty sure my singing brought tears to Cathy's eyes. The little goomers in angel and shepard costumes were oh so sweet.

Christmas morning was a little less frantic than the usual, the boys (more so Billy) didn't wake me up at the crack of dawn. Nine-thirthy was a decent start. Cathy and I staggarded out to lay on the couch roughly the same time, and despite having been woken up to open presents we had to wait until the boys finished one of the umpteen Bond films in their neverending marathon. Much loot was despersed and much love was recieved. As my extended family on my mums side always draws names for Christmas, my CiCi fortunately picked me and replenished my stock-pile. I got all that swank baking stuff, Cranium! GOOOOO GAMES NIGHT... (I shall post on that as soon as I return to the big bunker), a harmonica -which will do well to annoy most people I know, some piano tunes, some treats from my Grandma, and other radtacular goods. Cathy spoiled me with the radest Starbucks tumbler/travel mug thing which was decorated to the core (hahaha literally) with memorabilia and rad Kashi/Bekki likings. YOSHAAAA!!! Mummy and Daddy gave me the gift of Light. From this day forth I shall not sit in darkness. WeeeeHoooo. The brothers gifts: Pirates of the Carribbean 2, and a clump of tickets to the symphony, both delightful and entertaining.

Adrian, my love, and I had our present exchange before I came home and I think we did very well for spoiling each other... yes, yes we did. Domo-kun and SATC. Score.

I think the greatest thing this year was that we all got to relax in the comforts of home and enlighten Cathy on the ways of our insanity. I was really glad we were all here and touched that Cathy came to spend Christmas with my family. I love you Kashiiiiii!

However, soon I will be off to do my Advance Lifeguard Training in Vancouver and enjoy Cathy's cooking again, wink wink HAHAHA.

Turkey dinner - sooooo delicious! Gobble, gobble.

I'm a little out to lunch right now, and feel as though I need to eat some more turkey, and work on this puzzle that I randomely started with cathy (secretly we wish to go blind), and then finish this rad Osaka-style movie!

So, I hope and wish you all have and had a safe, happy, healthy Chirsmtas holiday! All the best in the new year!!

CHUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Merry Christmas!

I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and if you're monitoring my wish list, annonymity and the internet do not exist, so, Fuck You.

Have a Happy One.

Love,

Becky

F is For, Four, and Fore

Fiddlesticks, I don't know what to write for "F"

Fatty Acid Synthesis (FAS)
FAS is just as it sounds -the making of fatty acids. This occurs in the cytoplasm building the molecule by the sequential addition of 2-Carbon atoms per cycle. Each round that is (I believe 4 steps, but may be off my rocker) makes a carbon-carbon bond, which requires the input of energy. All of the carbon atoms come from Acetyl-CoA. This is all a pain in the ass if you ask me but I have my BIOCH re-write on Thursday so if I have to suffer so do you. Anyway, I digress, each of these rounds involves two reduction reactions that use two molectuls of NADPH. This is all carried out on a multienzyme complex. FAS uses on molecule of ATP per round. This reaction ends with the FA palmitate and it is all regulated by Acetyl-CoA carboxylase.

Flight of the Bumblebee
You see Billy, this is why Alphabeting didn't happen... I can't think of anything "F" like that doesn't involve my favourite word. And if i used that some self-esteemless ass would probabaly claim it was directed toward them and go stir up stuff with the dean who doesn't deserve such stupidity. Honestly. Give me some F-words and i'll get Funky!

Family
I have the best family in the world, and i'll contest it with anyone. So, we make him a diaper that he has to wear while in the house -or else mum threatens to put him down. A very kind dog however,... though retarded... I remember him getting lost around our condo and I had to take a journet to the pound to fetch the drippy buggar.

Inshallah

Quotes of the day:

1.
